The contribution of ERP systems to organisational agility raises questions regarding the mechanisms through which their use enhances companies’ ability to adapt. This article aims to identify these mechanisms and examine the conditions that may reinforce or limit their effects. A systematic review of the literature, conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, covered a corpus of 13 scientific studies available up to 30 June 2022, drawn from Scopus, Web of Science and supplementary literature searches. The narrative and thematic analysis highlights three complementary mechanisms: information integration, process coordination and reconfiguration, and the use of information in organisational decision-making. The results show that their contribution to agility depends on users’ skills, managerial practices and the adaptability of the integrated systems. The scientific contribution of this research lies in the proposal of an integrative conceptual framework linking the use of ERP systems to mechanisms of influence and the conditions for their effectiveness, whilst distinguishing between operational agility and overall organisational agility.
