This text explores the association between dietary behaviors and metabolic diseases based on the perception of local urban communities of their daily diet and the experience of treatment and monitoring of metabolic diseases by health professionals in the health district of Bouaké. The Bouake’s field is translated here as both a space with contours defined by the IPORA research, from which the data studied are extracted, and a social and economic space which positions itself as a mother city in the concentration of food supply, networking and flows and a reference city in the care of local diabetic patients and surrounding towns. Based on a mixed study with a qualitative tendency, the study is structured around three specific results. First, it highlights the evolution of metabolic diseases in the city of Bouaké, then, it describes the eating habits of the communities living in this city. Finally, she studies the relationship between these urban eating habits and metabolic diseases. Ultimately, the article notes that the evolution of these diseases can be associated with urban eating habits which prioritize low quality products (unhealthy), few fruits and vegetables, as well as basic products (essentially energy).
