Abstract

The aim of this article is to demonstrate the extent to which, for researchers in the humanities and social sciences, the use of the anthropology of communication can enable them to conduct meticulous research. This is achievable thanks to the methodological approach of this discipline, which requires the researcher to immerse themselves in and conduct fieldwork at the site of investigation. This meticulous approach, known as the ‘ethnographic approach’, involves stages that are essential for achieving a relevant result, worthy of thorough and thoughtful research in the humanities and social sciences.

Keywords: Ethnographic approach – observation – field notes.
