Abstract

This study represents our modest contribution to the teaching of texts in upper secondary school classes in particular, and to all secondary school classes in general. Our foremost concern is to see secondary school French teachers develop pupils’ understanding of sociocultural aspects when teaching texts. Indeed, French teachers currently focus solely on developing linguistic aspects when teaching texts, without any reference to cultural aspects. This is why we have sought to find a solution that provides an effective response to the teaching of texts by addressing the axiological dimension, with a view to helping learners develop the attitudes and qualities necessary for successful social integration.

Keywords: Sociocultural aspects, teaching, text, critical analysis.
