Education 4.0 is discussed as a means of preparing people for changing economic and social conditions, but its contribution to national talent development requires clarification. This conceptual article examines the contribution through the relationship between educational purposes, developmental provision and supporting evidence. Using a theory synthesis approach, it brings together purposively selected Education 4.0 frameworks, accounts of talent development and scholarship on educational purposes. Economic relevance, societal responsiveness, and individuals’ opportunities and agency provide perspectives for examining the same educational arrangement. University-industry curriculum collaboration illustrates the analysis. Selected Moroccan policy documents and research provide a contextual illustration rather than a policy evaluation. The synthesis distinguishes evidence of competency gains from judgments about whose needs provision serves, about learners’ participation and about outstanding attainment within a domain. It also examines how institutional opportunities connect to accessible support across developmental stages. Evidence supporting one of these judgments may leave others unresolved. The article offers an analytical framework for examining claims about Education 4.0 and national talent development while keeping recommendations, empirical findings and interpretations distinct. Its scope is bounded by the purposive corpus and the different contexts of the sources. The article does not establish causal effects or validate a national model.
Key words: Education 4.0; national talent development; educational purposes; conceptual synthesis; Morocco.
